New Regulation for United Kingdom:
From March 5, 2025, an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) is mandatory for European nationals.
What is an ETA?
An ETA grants permission to travel to the UK. It allows the holder to visit the UK for up to six months at a time over a period of two years or until the passport expires (if valid for less than two years) for tourism, visiting family and friends, business, or short-term studies. It is also required for transiting through the UK. An ETA is a travel authorization, not an entry permit.
The cost of an ETA is £10.
*Nationals who already have a visa or residence permit for the UK will not need an ETA.
**European nationals who already have a visa or residence status (e.g., EUSS) will not need an ETA. British and Irish citizens do not require an ETA.
